When you really know you're in for the serious thing, all other sorts of relationships just won't work. I've learned that the hard way - how else? The good news is that it's a lot better that those petty relationships don't work. I, for one, am sick of dead ends.

So how do you figure out you are marriage-minded? I consider the biggest clue to be the fact that you just don't feel motivated anymore to be in the "let's see where it gets us"-type of relationship. You just can't stand the unknown like you did before, you don't want to play games, in fact you may even detest them. You simply want the real thing: Forever. A wedding, a commitment, a husband/wife and not a boyfriend or girlfriend. The biggest mistake for you would be to get into a relationship in which the two of you don't look in the same direction, because you already know that a convergence of goals is an absolute must. You're barely in, but a part of your soul already wants out.

Ever since I realised I am no longer willing to play uncertain games, I simply cannot start any other relationship unless I somehow become certain that he is the one. And that has not happened yet. It is all clear to me why it is this way: see the reasons above. Also, I've come to a full acceptance of gender roles. I concluded that my own imbalance (taking on a masculine air and too many masculine tasks while dismissing my femininity) was attracting the wrong people. One, day I just had enough of all that, enough to take an honest look at the problem and see what is there to change in order to make myself happy. Here is a very important turning point: accept yourself as a single person and understand that it is better to be alone for God knows how long than to be with the wrong partner. Trust me, it is a billion times better.

Then, slowly, you will work on yourself, improve and not only feel inside that you are ready for marriage, but also let the others see it. The bad ones will run away. When you want a lifetime commitment, you won't be happy with someone who's in for the thrill of the game and who might be waiting for someone better to come along. You won't go for a pretty face only. You won't set yourself up for deceit. You will enjoy a longer, more mature courting phase instead of jumping at first-date kisses or sex. If you don't trust me - and why should you? - take a look at what reputable relationship coaches have to say.

Another good aspect: if you are marriage-minded, you are more likely to attract similar people. A sense of honour, commitment, future plans, integrity and honesty exist in much higher doses in those who want more than just a relationship. They will like what they perceive and they will be drawn to you.

The way you dress and many other choices (like how you prefer to entertain yourself or behave in a group) tells a lot about you. People who are mature enough may not be interested in one who is dressed like a fun-loving teen or a club vamp. Sure, you may get their attention, excite them and even keep them close them for a while, but you will not inspire in them those feelings. Also, do not fall into the other extreme: you don't have to be boring or plain. Keep your heart young.

Repel the not-so-serious ones and let yourself reflect less drama, real composure, become fond of cultural activities, get smart clothing, have more concern for your existing family or relatives, a career or life goal, big dreams, clear targets, and accept only those who are the same. If they don't like who you are know and wish you to return to your 'teenage' self, be wise and step away.

Let's call our ordinary reality Level A, and the astral plane - Level B. With practice, will and discipline, anyone can tap into the astral plane. Once gotten there, most people believe that "this is it", that's all about it. "This is the other side". The problem is that there is much, much more to "the other side". There is Level C, Level D and who knows how many more..... We stop at Level B, however, because we are used to black-and-white thinking - this is black and this is white, this is this world, and that is the other world.

Channelers, lightworkers, magic workers and all the like (plus ordinary spiritual wannabes) are convinced that by following some simple techniques they can tap into the infinite power that is being held away from the crowd. Funny thing, enough of these people believe in an intelligent, loving divinity. Why would such divinity make this power unreachable in the first place?!
Anyhow, by various means of training, we can obtain experiences that are out of the ordinary, such like manifesting wishes as realities, telepathy, lucid dreaming, remote influence, out of body travelling and more. These are achievements, needless to say. But absolute achievements? No way..... When getting in contact with what seems to be spirits from the other side, divine entities and other forms of higher existence that seem to be wiser than us or offer some kind of information/service, nothing is actually a guarantee. Would you rely on simple trust? on the messages that you get? The simple and pure reality is that YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THERE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO OR WHAT ANSWERS YOU.

Not all astral plane beings are divine. Not all are good. Not all are at the level we wish them to be. Getting into the astral is nothing but exploring a different kind of jungle. You think you are sure of what you're getting, but there is no kind of guarantee.

Working on the astral plane, like making use of the "law of attraction",  being involved in occult spiritual practices and using the power of thought and emotions are one and the same with magical work.Church had a good reason to forbid magic, although it makes use of it/teaches it itself (easy to see in the "ask and you shall be given" part). If one is insufficiently prepared for magic works, then the result cannot always be good. It is a too risky business and a too long road to master the forces. It is better to forbid it than to risk countless irresponsible actions and disasters. Many are the ex-'wizards' and 'witches' who acknowledged that their work was calling for the worse and gave it up, bewildered at the unexpected and continuous trouble.

This is why Christianity forbids such spiritual practices. It knows very well that humans stop once they're "on the other side", once they think they have gotten into the divine plane where superior, good-willed spirits reside.

Those who ignored this wisdom have become lunatics who think they channel wise spirits, who think they "communicate" with Archangel Michael, Virgin Mary or with some exotic spirits/entities that would sound pleasing to the ears of those sick of tradition...

Just a comment from a reader on http://healthybliss.net/jerry-hicks-has-cancer-will-leukemia-chemotherapy-affect-the-future-of-abraham-hicks/ , consequent to Jerry Hicks' death:

Thomas says:
"I know that anyone can provide evidence for their beliefs. Was it’s main intent to give hope ? possibly. does it work for everyone ? no. In some cases like mine it can cause harm, so even though I explored the concept I never fully agreed with it. Does it mean I have ill feelings towards the people that support this, no, the methods ? At one time I did and it took quite a few years to get past.
One of the most challenging things for me to get past was my childhood. I don’t consider myself to be a victim, but listening to the loa experts sent me in the wrong direction. I can’t get that part of my life back that was wasted following this nonsense.
I can fully understand why people do buy into it. Life has many challenges and we’d like to think we have the all the answers, somehow that knowing gives us peace.
Life happens, and the only control we have is our reaction to the challenges we face. I think to myself, thank god I didn’t give up searching for a better way."

Later on, he continues:

"Thomas says:
Its a good thing I’ve made a habit of questioning many of the things i’ve learned since exploring this field. In my own mind I wonder if abraham even exsists, or is it simply the ramblings of a schizophrenic woman who claims to have a direct connection to information no one else has ? No one knows for sure. Yes I’ve heard it all when it comes to this law of attraction, but no one knows anything for sure. The conflicts arise from the meaning that is given to the events.
As an example in this case the only thing anyone knows for sure is that Jerry died. Everything else aka the meaning, is simply a story thats being told, a meaning that people are making up in their minds."

This subject is a tragic one, so in no way I'm going to treat it disrespectfully or ridicule any aspect of it. The matter is a crucial one and, given the common sense, I cannot help but ask this: what would you do if your spiritual teacher would fail exactly his own teachings? What would you do if your solid beliefs would crumble down under the weight of an undeniable events?

Lots of people worldwide faced this situation when their mentor, Jerry Hicks, was diagnosed with cancer (leukemia), rushed straight into chemotherapy and eventually died. It is not of my competence to say what kind of person he was. I could hold no hostile feelings towards him, knowing he aimed to empower people and save them from ignorance, negativity and helplessness. It is, however, shocking and strange to find out that the Law of Attraction guru, who preached that we can all avoid any trouble in life - illness included - because our thoughts and attitudes create the reality, got such a terrible disease. Cancer is not a cold, you don't just get it like that. Moreover, if you happen to get it and you believe in the law of attraction, you try first to improve your health by correcting your thoughts.

Among the articles commenting his death, there was one that proved me the gross ignorance of some of his followers. The author had remembered that Hicks had never mentioned the importance of healthy diets. Therefore, he probably relied solely on the power of thought, but harmful food killed him. This is where common sense, reasoning, science and whatnot come in: aren't there countless people on bad diets, some of them getting cancer and surviving it? Yes, they do, and even when their illness had been seriously aggressive, they managed to win over, even without the help of positive thinking. And if you wish, look at the happy optimistic people. Many of them, indeed, never get ill. Our inner world does decide a lot regarding our health. Then, what is the secret? What makes certain people become ill and others stay healthy, when their lifestyles are clearly not the cause?

What makes it look like we are all taking part in a Russian roulette? Most fans of Jerry Hicks will never ask what in the world has happened, what led him to die of such illness. Maybe they do things right for themselves, maybe they don't.
The truth can be found out only by going beyond, and beyond again. As I said, I couldn't go into Jerry Hicks' existence and soul to tell what were his real 'colors'. However, I can conclude that was not doing everything right. To claim that absolutely everything in life is created by the person experiencing it is a gross exaggeration, an insult to natural laws, to human rights and to all creative powers above us (nature, God, Universe). Although at some point it makes perfect sense, this is only inducing a fake idea of responsibility and a terrible ignorance of every human being with the same rights around us.

People who believe in the unseen, like Hicks and his followers, are supposed to grasp the concepts related to the invisible universe. Mere observation of things that happen in life tells us to accept that we are not the only creators of our life. No matter how much we struggle to be the pilot of our own plane, many events we wish to control are simply not in our power. These do not invalidate, however, our divine capacity. Yes, we were made to resemble our Creator, but acknowledging this does not equal with taking the place of this divine authority. LOA freaks tend to have this kind of logic: "God made me like Him, I become God, therefore I don't recognize God's authority". Well, the last part obviously contradicts the first one! It is often forgotten that, in the case we are meant to become one with the divinity, it happens after death and not during life. If it was so, at least one person in humanity's history would've become a god by now.

Jerry Hicks was not necessarily wrong in his teachings. However, if he did not know the whole truth about how the world works, his cancer would be easily justified. Ignoring one single aspect of the truth leads to lie and failure. Hicks was probably seeing himself as an all-powerful god, completely ignoring his actual role in the universal hierarchy. The truly life-giving and empowering spiritual traditions speak of the secrets of health and happiness, but in relation to a humble attitude, unconditional love, lack of greed and so on. Their most determined followers have defeated pain, torture and many physical limitations, also reaching to help others. Only the opposing ones have placed importance on catering to the self only, accumulating possessions and focusing only on the now. Giving names is useless...

If you are still unsure of my point, take a look at what the wife, Esther Hicks, is preaching:
"At a recent seminar (Jerry Hicks absent) Esther was asked by a concerned mother what to do about her young son who refused to share toys. Nothing, Esther advised. The child was "in alignment," tuned into his toys by the law of attraction.
The mother then said that it worried her that her son was also kicking their cat. No problem, says Esther, don't interfere. The cat is teaching him."

Attendees at this workshop paid $200 a head to listen to this "spiritual insight" on "the leading edge of thought." Online attendees got to pay $75 to stare at their screens to for a couple of hours of Esther Hicks wisdom.

Enough said. The blind will remain blind.

The famous Law of Attraction has become infamous to many, because of the many secrets it holds. I, personally, had a long time in which I was feeling disgusted at the simple hearing of these words, because I was considering it a scam, just another nice daydream for people in order to keep them focused on sterile matters. Sadly, most individuals end up like me in that case.

For some fortunate ones, though, the shift happens sooner or later. LoA works indeed, but only for the few strong ones, the determined ones. The truth seekers, the ones who don't agree with being defeated. Now, I don't know how many out there can use LoA without much effort. Considering the general condition of mankind though, I'd say that the great secret is actually mindwork. Mind work. A lot of it, constantly, enthusiastically. Your saboteur can be right there in your deepest self, in the realms of the subconscious. It's all those beliefs that bring unhappiness, the stored feelings of failure, the rigidity and you must turn its power to your benefit. Remember that your subconscious is also what keeps you alive and makes you breathe, move, perceive, think, talk.

For the work you need to do with your subconscious, think about your home computer.
The latter is a machine that can do many more things than your conscious self, a lot faster and effective. You just cannot complete those enormous calculations in a split second. You cannot create all it does in the virtual space. But you order it to do so. You took the cds with the programs needed, installed and used them to your advantage and desired results. You don't wonder how it does all that, by what means and processes exactly, unless you're passionate with the IT. Later, as you want other programs, you install them as needed. However, in order to do this you may have to clean up some space on the hard disk. Then, you proceed to removing the old, no longer useful programs, or the junk data you stored.

This is exactly how you can work with your subconscious in the greater picture. Start by making some free space by deleting all that no longer serves you. Scan for viruses, take out all that did harm. This can be done by EFT. Now you can install the new software, for the works and results you're expecting. Do this by programming your mind using meditation, visualization, positive affirmations. Notice that the foremost thing your conscious self can do is to set out an intention, to act within its limits and let the "other powers" do their job. You don't have to wonder at all, using LoA, how is everything going to happen, or to allow doubts. The universe/God/ whatever you recognize as powerful outside yourself has all the means necessary and has already given you the tools you need. "Ask and it shall be given", because all is there. Here, I can add something more, because I recognize God as separate from this force, which was given by Him as a tool for our benefit and downfall also, for our lessons-to-be-learned...
How one has to ask for something, the preparation and processes are another story.

The downsides of LoA:

As a neutral tool, this attraction force and the energy that's responsive to our thoughts can be manipulated in all possible ways. Bad things happen because of bad thoughts. Bad thoughts exist because of bad ethics. That is the key - the ETHICS. This is also what made LoA look silly in my eyes, before getting a grip on its real meaning, and it's what drives others away from this tool. There are numerous masters out there who use it for becoming rich. Millionaire. Billionaire. It's very nice and useful to have money - but does anyone really need to be a millionaire? do we really? Why would anyone want to have the most expensive car while there are countless cars that already function perfectly AND look wonderful? These material goals that they set to be obtained with LoA have the power to drag it all down for those who use some different ethics... There's another helping key here, and that is DISCERNMENT. Having the discernment to realize that getting unnecessarly rich or famous is their goal and they're only using a tool that is neutral, the same tool that can be used to bring balance, harmony and true welth to yourself and others.

Seminar on self improvement and the Law of Attraction - Keys to Manifestation, March 2011 - Part I

This is a seminar not without nervousness for me, but I'm working on that *laughter* Because I've been asked (by the organizing team) to give a picture of my past dark times, I begin with that. I was surely down. I was experiencing loss on a lot of levels, without even knowing a reason why. I was loosing all I've ever known to be a sure thing in my life. There had to come a day when I'd just have too much of it. Enough. A breakdown that would generate change. It came eventually, after several attempts though, and after I was devastated with anger and tears. I cried for a whole day, got conjunctivitis which kept me inside the house for some days more, when I had things to do in town... I brought to the ground my immune system and suffered a throat infection which wouldn't let me sleep at night, I was in pain and suffocating... and I guess all that was enough, added to the fears and damaging thoughts I was soaked in.

You see, for a couple of years I had this up-and-down rhythm, which was more like going downwards... This is exactly where most people go wrong - and I want you to pay great attention to this - write it down and remember it. Most of us are fine with feeling OK and feeling not so OK. If they get depression, bipolarity, panic attacks, you name it, they take their pills and are very content as the effect installs. If they can go through the day without feeling all that pain and discomfort, it's fine for them.... But you see? They never really put it behind, they don't work on its root or assess whatever is truly happening there. They're pleased as long as a pill can get them through the day. I have friends like that... I try to open up any topic like these being discussed today, but they don't have an open mind for that. You've seen them too, haven't you?... They know their little pill or whatever is making them feel something better than their bad condition and they don't need to go further than that. Well, SUFFICIENCY can be a thing equal to the dangerous IGNORANCE.

The Law of attraction tells about being happy with what you've got; this, however, is far from the attitude described. Yes, be pleased with what you're experiencing right now - but this doesn't mean you have to cancel all your wishes and dreams, all your aspirations. My colleagues spoke to you about the main things in LOA, and I will point those parts which appear as contradicting. The parts we usually get wrong. That's why it doesn't work for most! And then come the haters and skeptics who raise their voices, like "Yeah, it doesn't work because it's a scam, it's a... thing to get money out of your pockets and so on..". Yeah, pretty true in many cases. Recently I've come across an organization - I'm not gonna name it - it promised the supreme enlightenment and secret, above all else that one can find out there, if you become a member of their group and pay a sum... Well, they also advertised themselves by showing the luxurious and exotic holiday places they have and kept an emphasis on the money. To a trained person, a person with spiritual integrity, this is the supreme sign of LOA gone wrong, being used for bad interests. You see, LOA is not good or bad in itself, it has no polarity. LOA is not God either. It is the force that God put to our disposal, a powerful tool which we can use according to what we have inside and how we think.... The polarity is within us. Just like our subconscious, LOA doesn't truly know what is valid or not, what is true for everyone, what is good or not.

I'd like to suggest you to get familiar with all the concepts we are using here - the subconscious mind, energy, vibration, brainwaves and please get familiar with psychology. Everything is about human psychology - arts, philosophy, literature, theology even... In fact this all is one single big science, we're just dividing it because we think it's easier to teach like that.

Now let's get back to my main purpose here to teach: the MISTAKES we are making though we've learned the main rules.
1. Meditating in the wrong way. Getting into the alpha state was pretty tricky for myself. I was holding the wrong idea that I must not move, not at all, so I'd lose the aim. I had no clue that it's allowed and it's actually beneficial to take a sip of water if thirsty or scratch an itch if it feels so. I was forcing myself to disregard the itch I was having, believing it would hinder me from mentally relaxing, and what I was doing instead was to amplify the tension, focus on my body and simply miss the Alpha state. Now that's one thing that created quite some sabotage!

2. We come now to a basic principle in LOA and not only - many belief systems as well... It's "Be grateful for what you have right now". Paying attention here? Grateful is the right word, not content, not happy. If you have an illness, can you actually lie to yourself and tell it feels good? that you're happy with it and don't want it to change? It is a lesson of life... that's what you should be grateful for... It's bad, it hurts, but it teaches you something precious. You accept it, acknowledge the lesson, learn and let it move on... That's it. You're done. You wouldn't have wanted it to stay forever, would you? Gratitude is truly the key attitude here. Practice this and let your life develop, let your dreams come to you. Setting your mind to being happy ONLY with what there is right now, for ever and ever, means staying there at that level, never moving forward. Gratitude doesn't and isn't supposed to cancel all your other faculties - reasoning, judgement, empathy. Also, think about it.... if we were all super tolerant, peaceful and content, there'd be no conflict. There'd be no growth either. On another side, I've seen people who practiced being happy in the moment, but they lacked serious human virtues, like empathy... No no. It is never supposed to be so. A truly grateful person IS happy indeed in the moment, but allows even what we call negative experiences, because there is the right inner power to use and transform them to something better.

3. Let's take a look now at some conflicts revolving around the ideas of intention, visualizing and being ready for your goal to come true. Now you are already familiar with them. You have desires, don't you? Dreams... give me one... *points to a young man in the audience* Yes, you? -"I want a trip to New York". New York trip, great! When is it happening? - "Um... It's not set yet, I don't have the money". Alright, perfectly understandable; but by this you've set your dream in the future, for good. *silence* LOA tells you to feel and act now as if your trip is set and you're about to be there, in NY. Picture yourself, you can do that.... Your subconscious gets better the images and emotions... it doesn't work with the future tense, however. Some languages don't even have a future tense, ever known that? Quite an interesting matter..... Your subconscious mind is extremely strong, yet kind of silly in some aspects! If you tell it about the future, it won't pick on it and do its job. It says, Oh, it's in future, then no need for me to get busy with it... So, NY trip will stay a dream for you. Here's the part where most people give up. They find it hard to do the visualizing... and at the same time to get along with their lives normally. Let's say you act according to LOA and you're aaabsolutely convinced you're going to NY, though your money isn't there yet. You meet a friend who knows you're broke or jobless and he asks how you're doing... and you say with a huge smile, Oh I'm going to NY!! *laughter* It doesn't really work, does it?.... Well, it's wise to just keep these to yourself. It will be nicer anyway to surprise them later when you're actually packing your bags *laughter*. Do not get discouraged anyhow by what others may say. This is one more reason why winners are so few.

4. Another reason to fail with LOA is eliminating what you do not want. Yes, sounds surprising? Well, the simple thought that you don't want something may attract that very thing to you. Because it's RESISTANCE. What you resist, persists - that's a golden rule! It's because of your energy investment in it and the visualization of the unwanted thing! This usually triggers an emotional response in us... Do you fear disease? Cancer? How do you feel if you have a cake in front of you that's filled with deadly additives, sure to get you sick? Don't you already start feeling uncomfortable? If you cling on that though, you may feel like developing symptoms already! It's so simple for us to give in to the negative emotions....

Positive thinking all over. Power of thought, the hidden god within us, divine consciousness, unconditional love, the higher self. You create your world. Such concepts have started to appear everywhere we look, trying to solve the deep crisis of mankind in our times. With them being widely spread, not many people can complain they could never know. And many of us know, and some of us use the knowledge. Then... why don't we witness spectacular changes? Why some of us still complain, question, wander and even deny?

I think it's because we can barely get the force, understanding and determination to make the changes of patterns permanent. We don't understand that it takes tremendous time and effort to become one with the newly discovered knowledge. Persistence, endurance, faithfulness.
It is not enough for one to be convinced of the truth of a principle. Soon, the old patterns kick in - those patterns that we inherited from countless manipulated generations. It takes long enduring therapy to replace them, or... surgery. Well, surgery is done by a brutal opening of what normally stays closed, it implies direct intervention and a lot of blood flow. Yes, there can barely be any surgery without blood. I hope the metaphoric meaning of this is easy to see... For example, in a lot of 'brutal' interventions of a therapist/psychologist to heal a patient, the patient will firstly be forced to access all the pain inside, to get it all out in the open, feel it and cry to the limit.

In most cases, an 'enlightened' person will stick to the discovered truth at the level of their intellect. They will even enlighten other people too and everything will be smooth and pretty until a disruptive element, a challenge of sorts will come their way. In their conscious minds, they will still be convinced that they follow the good, chosen path.

Have you ever heard people saying that, whenever faced with another's bad attitude, "It's not what I want in my life"? Or similar phrases, like "I'm not in resonance with your behavior", "I do not support your thinking" etc. What they say is not wrong in the first instance. They try to teach the other person the good way. But what they actually do is to run away, to turn their backs not only to the other person, but to themselves too. One who is aware of his mind power and inner divine consciousness will know that, in such situation, they have to keep on creating their reality, the outcome. If the man in front of you is giving you an unpleasant experience, sure you must spot it and reject it in itself (disagreeing). But why forgetting of your own transformational power? BE what you want to experience. Show what you want to receive. Prove what you believe in, instead of keeping it at an intellectual and sterile level. When running away, there is no way one can be that. Moreover, it ruins the entire world view that the person supported, which will lead others to perceive it as something fake. One who preaches the benefits of being positive and loving but not manifesting them, will not convince others of any such benefits. This, in fact, will only push them further away into negativity.

So, the 'positive person' not only didn't get the desired reality, but they actually made it worse by themselves.
